ShalomBASE Schedule, Logistics and More!

2024 - 2025 School Year

Families can choose 3, 4, or 5 afternoons a week. ShalomBASE students will join the Ansin Religious School (ARS) program on Tuesdays for music, t’filah (prayers), Hebrew, and more with the larger ARS community.

Program Details

Welcoming Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade children at FRR and Lawrence, as well as TCEE Transitional Kindergarten.

Schedule

ShalomBASE is open daily until 5:30pm and follows the PSB Calendar. ShalomBASE programming will run on early release days and will offer camp days on PSB professional development days and during school vacation weeks in February and April.

Our Team

Our staff is well-trained in communication, conflict management, classroom management, lesson planning, and curriculum development. We are here to support your child’s needs, whether it be helping with homework, reading a story, painting, or playing an energetic game of soccer at the playground.

Transportation

Brookline is a very walkable town. ShalomBASE will have a supervised “walking-bus” from FRR and Lawrence School. The walking bus works well for our sister program, HomeBASE. When children (and teachers) are dressed appropriately for the elements, there is no such thing as bad weather!

Curriculum

The curriculum and schedule balance structure and freedom, providing students with opportunities for both free play and organized activities. We encourage kids to explore their interests and passions, develop their voices, and grow as individuals. Each day at ShalomBASE has a different theme – with weekly consistency, children know what to expect and get excited for their favorite activities!

Jewish Friends & Learning

Your child will form meaningful friendships with other Jewish children. In our immersive environment, Hebrew words and Jewish culture are embedded in all activities, and in our schedule, we dedicate time each day to learning about the Jewish holidays and calendar.

Our Schedule

2:30pm: ShalomBASE staff pick up children at school, walk to TOS (1:40 pm on Fridays)

3:00pm: Arrive at TOS, get settled, snack offered, greeting meeting

3:30pm: Daily enrichment activity (or outdoor playtime)

4:30pm: Activity choices (or outdoor playtime) & homework time

5:00pm: Independent activities & homework time with rolling pick-up until 5:30 pm
