When there’s a fire, you know how to respond, or you know who to call if it’s beyond your abilities. But what can you do to help your loved one during a mental health crisis? Get certified in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) at TOS and learn essential and applicable skills to better care for the people you love.

Training spots are limited to 30 participants – REGISTER HERE by October 1st!

WHO IS IT FOR?
This specific training is designed for adults interfacing with youth, including family members, teachers, and mentors.

DO I HAVE TO HAVE YOUNG KIDS, OR ANY KIDS, TO PARTICIPATE?
No, the information and skills provided are applicable to people of all ages.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
From toddlers to teens, MHFA will teach you about common risk factors, effective communication skills, de-escalation tactics and how to recognize the signs, intervene in the event of a mental health crisis.

HOW DO I GET CERTIFIED?
Certification requires 8 hours of training, including the 2-hour, self-paced orientation followed by two 3-hour in-person sessions at the Temple, on October 11th and 16th. Participants must complete the entire orientation by October 11th, and all 6 in-person training hours and the post-training materials to receive the certificate.
