From CJP: Fund for Afghan Immigrants and Refugees:
Here are three ways you can provide for the immediate needs of Afghan immigrants and refugees:
GIVE: 100% ofyour gift will provide direct support through Catholic Charities of Boston and Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) to the families and individuals resettling in Boston. Assistance will include food, housing, employment services, and other basic needs.
SPONSOR A FAMILY: Team up with synagogue members, school groups, or other communities to sponsor a family with furnishings and funds, or help to meet other needs. Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) is our partner that will lead and implement a community-wide synagogue response. To learn more, contact Rachie Lewis at JCRC.
SHARE YOUR HOME: Help JCRC find housing for immigrants and refugees arriving in Boston. Our community has already given generous amounts to subsidize families in market-rate apartments. If you have, or anyone you know has, a home to rent or to share, contact Rachie Lewis at JCRC.
