For Tu B’Shevat—our beloved Jewish “birthday of the trees”—Reform synagogues try to give Mother Earth some extra care and attention. That’s what Mothers Out Front (for a livable climate) is all about!
Gather with us for February’s Social Action Shabbat, with a focus on positive steps for climate justice. Our special guest speaker is Ohabei Shalom congregant and climate advocate Wendy Stahl. Wendy is an activist with Mothers Out Front and chairs an important town-wide committee in Brookline. She will share about her own journey to climate action and some of the ways that we too can walk that path. Sponsored by the Social Action Committee at Ohabei Shalom and Shir Hadash.
Wendy Stahl is a new member of TOS this year with a 2nd grader at ARS. She and her family moved to Brookline from the California Bay Area in July of 2020 in response to the worsening climate risks of living in California. She completed her medical school and residency training in psychiatry at UCLA but has transitioned to working full time as a climate advocate, chairing Brookline’s Zero Emissions Advisory Board, volunteering in Mothers Out Front, and working for a small non-profit called ZeroCarbonMA.
