Jewish Ethics on Work and its Transformation by Artificial Intelligence
A two-session class, jointly sponsored by Shir Hadash and Temple Ohabei Shalom on Jewish ethics applied to work and its transformation by artificial intelligence. The class is led by Henry Morris, President of Shir Hadash with expert consultant Larry Gillick.
- Session 1 (Monday, November 16, 7-8:30 PM) - Jewish principles on the value of work, ethical conduct in the workplace, and a worker’s right to a living wage.
- Session 2 (Monday, November 23, 7-8:30 PM) – Understanding the transformation of work and the workplace by artificial intelligence; then applying Jewish ethics on work to the current situation.
Leaders:
- Henry Morris, Ph.D. (U of Pennsylvania in philosophy) and Rabbi and D.H.L. (Reconstructionist Rabbinical College); Former Senior Vice President of Software and Services Market Research (International Data Corporation); and co-author of Augmented Intelligence: The Business Power of Human-Machine Collaboration (2020).
- Larry Gillick, Ph.D. (M.I.T. in mathematics), formerly headed speech and language technology research groups at Dragon Systems, Voice Signal Technologies, and Nuance Communications; formerly Chief Speech Scientist for Siri at Apple; co-founder and CTO of Semantic Machines, an AI company specializing in conversational technology, acquired by Microsoft in 2018.
