Social Action at Ohabei Shalom
Ohabei Shalom is the place for connecting with a diverse community of Jews while contributing to the well-being of both the Jewish community and the broader community through its effective social action initiatives. We as Jews are charged with a legacy that mandates us to 'pursue justice, seek peace and attain harmony with every one of God's creatures’. We believe that it is the responsibility of our congregation, students and families to translate these and other religious teachings to social action. As deeds often speak louder than words our Social Action committee is continually working on a wide range of activities and events that are designed to encourage our members to get involved by helping those who are in need -- in our synagogue family, local community and beyond.
